The Week That Was

New Beginnings:

* A Presidential Inauguration with a gracious transfer of power

* A tornado-ravaged colleague's family moved into their brand new home

And a closing:

Uncle John (really Dad's 1st cousin) was killed in an accident. Someone went to pass him and misjudged how close they were. He clipped the back end of Uncle John's truck, sending him into a spin which threw him from the vehicle. He was a life-long farm boy (OK, 74 might not be a boy, but you get the drift!), a bachelor, and a fervent Republican. Ironically, he died 4 minutes before the new President was sworn in--something he would have appreciated. They buried him today under the prairie soil that he had spent a lifetime farming, only a few miles from his old home place.

Sorry to hear about your uncle. An unexpected accident can be hard. I've been thinking about you and your family.
