At the Old Ball Game

High school teams are warming up to be the next major leaguers. If our town is any indication, baseball is still America's pastime.
Local fields will be busy for the next five months with kids dreaming of playing at the next level.

Our students have their own cheer section in left field. They set up lawn chairs in truck beds, so they can see above the fences. They heckle the other team's left fielder and cheer for the hometown boys. After all, baseball needs its fans. And in our town, the fans never seem to be in short supply, though some of us may be waiting for a bit warmer temperatures.

Hey, thanks for doing two entries this week! :) I'm glad you did both.

This is so funny looking at these pictures. I swear... we either live in the same small town or small towns are the same all over the country. This looks JUST LIKE our baseball area complete with the yellow chainlink guards at the top!

I picked my high schooler up last Thursday from school. It was a warm and beautiful day, and I could hear the sound of the bat hitting the ball out on the baseball field. It was such a wonderful, summertime sound!
