Friday's Fave Five

I am joining in the look back at my Fave Five things about this week. So here goes. Drum roll please!

1. This is the last day of school for most of my students! (As a teacher, it doesn't get much better than this.) A handful will be back to take finals on Monday, but those who passed the State Math assessment get to opt out of finals if they choose. I'm so close, I can smell summer!

2. Finishing the movie To Kill A Mockingbird and hearing my students say the book is so much better. Success in detail, here. A great way to send this class out into the world.

3. The new blog I started here with quotes and photos, two things I have loved for a long time!

4. Mother's Day with my daughters. Besides my husband, there are very few people that I enjoy being around as much as I enjoy spending time with them. They are funny, smart, kind, and interesting. Do I sound like a proud Mom? I am. They are wonderful women and have become good friends.

5. The flowers pictured on this post that were part of my mother's day gifts. I smile every time I see them!

love to kill the mocking bird and great sign that they loved reading the book more. Great reason to be a teacher, summers off, holiday and weekends and that is besides the love for your students

I just read TKAM in the last year or two, and I agree, the book is so much better (usually is!) How great that your students were able to experience them side by side.

We have two weeks of school left, but this past one was the last super busy one. I am looking forward to summer!!

The new blog looks really pretty! And so do the flowers! Glad you had a great time with your family.

Have a great weekend!

Welcome to Fave Five, Mrs. E. So nice that jump on board! We even posted the same color rose this week!

Our kids still have about a month of school left and are just starting to gear up for their finals most of which are in June.

I love quotes and photos too so am off to check out your other site!

I love the book to Kill a Mocking Bird. I too enjoyed the book more than the movie. But as a teacher that must be so wonderful to hear that from your students - book over a movie.
Wonderful list - especially your daughters in your own words becoming good friends. That's special.

I totally love that photo of the peace rose!

To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my all-time fave books. I read and re-read my copy (that I got through Scholastic books when I was a kid) so many times, that the covers disintegrated. I always wanted to be Scout which is wierd because I am so not a tomboy.

I digress.

Anyway, it's so great that you have a great relationship with your daughters. We have to parent when they're little-hopefully we can be friends when they're big!

Gorgeous rose to begin with! And a beautiful arrangement to end. Flowers at both ends - perfect.

I love what you wrote about your girls! I listed my kids as one of my favorites this week, too.

TKAM is one of my all time favorite books. I think it is cool that your students like the book better than the movie. Too many young people are more into watching than reading. Good job, Teacher!

I love To Kill a Mockingbird- book and movie, I love flowers and yours in the pic are beautiful and I love daughters, mine especially, so I know what you're talkin' about. I do have to keep working on Algebra 2 w/Fashionista for a few more weeks to make up for lost time when she was Mary Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life this year (you know we home school, so we can do that)- theater takes soooo much time, but it was worth it and she was awesome!

As for where the cow births are happenin', click on the word "cow" in the post, Teach, I'm linking now! You can read all about it! Thanks for your comments, I love 'em.
