Last Day of June

The last day of June. 2009 is half over. One month of summer vacation is over. BUT... I still have half of 2009 left and another full month of summer vacation. The glass is half full here!

On this beautiful last day of June, the temperature for my morning walk was 65 degrees. After the heat indexes of the last couple of weeks, I am in heaven. (I couldn't believe all the people walking in long sleeves!) And of course, I didn't have my camera. I saw beautiful purple straw flowers, a gorgeous gold finch, and a little frog the size of my thumbnail. You'll just have to picture it in your mind. I am.

The hole in my tooth is now filled. It only took about 20 minutes in the dentist chair. (That was one prayer answered!) I could have done without the $80 bill, but I guess I'll survive.

In July, both girls are moving. They have lived together in a duplex for three years and have had about enough togetherness. My hunch is that by September they will be missing each other, but if they stayed together another year they just might kill each other. They swear they don't need Mom and Dad to help them move, but I doubt they refuse the help if we show up.

I'm hoping we can squeeze in a short vacation during the month of July. We've done a lot of day trips in June, so I will survive without a long vacation. In August, there is a family golf trip in the works. (Well, golf for the men and a couple of the women. I'm thinking shopping and a movie in that theater that brings the wine to your seat is more my style!) There has to be a girls back-to-school shopping trip sometime in July or early August. (Tradition!) And then it will be time for school to begin again. By the first of August, I am always ready to get back in the swing and am full of plans for the new school year.

The weather seems to be celebrating the end of June, so I think I will, too.
