Midweek Ramblings

The end of September. The first frost. Essays to grade. Giving up my one shift a week at the bookstore. Homecoming week. Spirit Week. Is it any wonder my thoughts are a bit scattered?

Lid over at 2nd Cup of Coffee has a daughter running cross country. She has been collecting "smack talk" cross country shirts. There have been some good ones. My favorite so far is "Since you're behind, how's mine?" Tacky, I know--but you have to love a runner with a sense of humor!

I shared trailer school's shirt for the girls last year: "My mascara runs faster than you do." Unfortunately, my mascara really does runs faster than I do! (I bet they could make that T-shirt for me. I'm just not sure I need to advertise it!)

This week, I talked my lone sophomore cross country runner into letting me photograph her Cross Country sweatshirt.
And then she was a good sport and let me photograph their T-shirt, too.
Cross country runners have a knack for making their fans laugh. Either that or they have to laugh to make it through the season.
.
Administration gave us the long lunch this week. I wrote about it last February here. Since students and teachers can go weeks without seeing each other, the administration created one day a month for an extra long lunch period. Students have to stay on school property, but they can listen to stereos, toss a football or Frisbee, and just "chil-lax" as they call it. The teachers gather for a group meal. (A rotation is worked out for school ground supervision. We each supervise half of a lunch period at least once during the year.)
Some of the women staff posed for a Red Hat Birthday shot. The purple shirts are the 50+ group. Some hats were removed to get everyone in the picture. The lavender and other assorted colors are the young 'uns!
.
This has been a fun/wild week at trailer school. I'll post pictures of some of the craziness. I promise. Just not today.

I like the tee shirt sayings. My oldest son, Brian ran cross country. I've never seen anything like that around here.

Great t-shirt and sweatshirt sayings! I don't know if they do that sort of thing around here.

I love the punny shirts ... oh and my darling, thank you!!! you correctly diagnosed my headache as allergies and once I started taking allergy pills it disappeared after nine days and a mis-diagnosis by a real doctor who said it was a virus!

Great T-shirts! There is nothing better than disrespecting other sports. In my school, the two winter teams, wrestling and basketball, were rivals. We had T-shirts that said: "I'd rather wrestle and LOSE than play basketball."
