Happy St. Patrick's Day on the Dozen O'Random

1. On a scale of 1-10, how superstitious are you, honestly?
Not very. I had a lucky pair of underwear back when the Mr. was coaching. That is all I can recall.

2. Julius Caesar is quoted as saying, "I came, I saw, I conquered." Which circumstance or experience of yours does this saying best describe?
I guess that has been my approach at Trailer High since the tornado. I think that has been the approach of our entire staff. We came together, saw the mess, and conquered the bad circumstances. And we choose to do that every single day.

3. If I peeked in on your day like a mischievous little leprechaun, at what time would I most likely find you blogging?
In the evening or sometimes early morning.

4. Re springing forward for Daylight Saving Time, is there anything you've ever been really early or really late for?
Nope. Not that I can recall.

5. What are you most looking forward to concerning Spring?
Sunshine, warm temperatures, and bike rides.

6. Shamrocks are the national flower of Ireland and are picked on St. Patrick's Day and worn on the lapel or shoulder. Do you wear green on St. Patty's Day?
O' Course I do.

7. One of Caesar's assassins, Casca, said, "But, for my own part, it was Greek to me," which of course means he didn't understand something. Probably his own lines in the play. Anyway, what is something that is "Greek to you," something incomprehensible or indecipherable?
Any math beyond addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.

8. Is March behaving more like a lion or a lamb where you live?
Not a lamb, and not exactly a roaring lion--more like a sleepy one.

9. "An extra yawn one morning in the springtime, an extra snooze one night in the autumn is all that we ask in return for dazzling gifts. We borrow an hour one night in April; we pay it back with golden interest five months later." -Winston Churchill. If you had one extra hour per day every day, what would you do with it?
Read.

10. Legend says that every Leprechaun has a pot of gold hidden deep in the Irish countryside. Aside from real gold or money, what material item would be in your dream pot of gold?
A log cabin.

11. "The best things are nearest: breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of God just before you." Robert Louis Stevenson. Look around you right now and tell us about something essential or beautiful very near you that you take for granted every day.
Loved ones. We count on them always to be there. It is a little too easy to take them for granted.

12. Just for a bit o' fun, click here (www.blogthings.com/irishnamegenerator/) and then report your Irish name. Mine is "Zoe O'Sullivan." I love it!
Avril McCarthy- Avril? I could be singing!
"What butter or whiskey does not cure cannot be cured." That's my Irish proverb. I love it!

I had a terrific Tuesday. K and I took off to go see #1 niece and her three boys. We took them lunch and had the best time visiting. Her boys were quite entertaining and just adorable. We don't see them enough.

CT joined us when K and I arrived home. We waited for the Mr. to get home from work, and while we waited Dad and B came by. We talked them into staying for supper and having birthday cake with us. It was a nice surprise for the Mr.'s Birthday. K and CT "babysat" Baxter while we took Dad and B to see Trailer High and all the construction around Tiny Town. It was good to see them.

I'm still waiting for warmer temperatures. I'm not sure we're going to get our potatoes in the ground today. Besides the gardening, I'd like it to dry out enough that we can get out to the farm this weekend. It isn't looking good. Guess that means I might actually have to grade the papers I brought home. Darn it!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Wow! Your #7 & #11 are really close to my answers! I can't imagine your feelings after the tornado; I saw the remains of the one in Al. a couple of weeks after it happened, but a lot had already been cleaned up. What a great community you must live in to just jump in and "git 'er done"!

I answered math on that question, too! Yea, I'm not alone!

Too many of us had that same Irish quote. Sounds a bit suspicious to me! LOL

I figured the website might be a bit suspect--but a lot of fun, too!

Can you believe I forgot to wear green today? Ack! My great-grandmother is shaking her head at me, I just know it. I had to print out a clip-art clover this morning so I wouldn't get pinched! :)

Hope the Mr. had a great birthday yesterday. The Comments Monster was misbehaving and ate my comment when I hit post. So happy belated birthday, Mr. E!

You and I said almost the same thing for #7.

Your #11 answer was great - and so true!
