Pass the Aspirin

Things that make you go, DUH!!

1.  An NCAA basketball bracket.  A complete waste of my $2.00!  (And I act like this is something new.  I do the same thing every year.)

2. Jordan on "The Amazing Race" confusing Joan of Arc with Noah and the Ark.  Seriously!  You can't make this stuff up.

3. A little dog that wakes me up at 2:00 AM.  We head outside and Baxter acts like he is going to nap on the ground for awhile.  He didn't go to the bathroom; didn't even walk around.  Just immediately prone.  Are you kidding me?  I got out of a warm bed for this?

4.  We're back at school for a week, and then the students have a four day Easter weekend. Easing them back into the school schedule, I guess.  ???

5. I've been telling students for a couple of weeks that we were researching a career choice after break. They needed to have a career in mind when we returned.  I told them daily for, oh, about two weeks. We've talked about it off and on ever since the first of January. Care to guess how many students still didn't have a clue what career they wanted to research yesterday?   Don't ask! If they are still without an idea today, my naturally sweet disposition is history.

Sometimes it all just makes my head hurt!

I laughed at #3...been there, done that! Aren't little dogs funny? (I'm sure you were laughing at him at 3:00 in the morning!) We have a 4-day weekend for Easter, too. Sounds like we're on the same schedule!

Yea number 3. Isabel will want attention at strange hours also. She knows that when she goes out to do her business and comes back, she receives a treat. So she'll play the game of get human up, go out, I sniff around a little, human gets tired, we go in, human gives me a treat or I'll whine all night. Check-mate!

No ideas today and you get to christen them a future proctologist. Specializing in head removal.

Harry had me up at 3 also. What's the deal?

Oh, no, Baxter! I thought you were going to say he wanted to play, but to sleep outside is even more funny! Not at 2am it isn't.

Re #3: Baxter's just being sweet! Maybe he wants midnight belly rubs?

Re #5: I've become convinced that teaching is an endless exercise in listening to yourself repeat yourself and constant facepalms. If you do not experience many facepalms while teaching high school students or college freshmen, you're not doing it right.

I hear that margaritas also work wonders. :) You will be calm and then happy for a short while and then you will sleep like a baby. Repeat as needed!

Well my head is hurting at the thought of it. Baby still keeping you awake - poor thing. This too shall pass.
