Yesterday's Success

I completed my two mile run yesterday.  It wasn't pretty, but I did it.  And just in time!  The St. Patrick's Day Fun Run is this Saturday.  It remains to be seen if it is fun or not!  I spent last evening updating the music on my hot pink ipod shuffle. I have been in need of some new running tunes.  Feel free to leave me some suggestions for songs to add to my running list.

And Baxter made it all the way through the night on Sunday night!  Woo Hoo!!  A full night's sleep for the Mr. and me.  Mr. B woke me up about 15 minutes before the alarm was set to go off.  However, it is all a trade off.  Now I need to get him to quit attacking my hands like they are a bit of juicy steak!  Little rug rat!

In other news around Easy Street and Tiny Town:

*K is putting some applications out there for principal jobs.  In this economy, there aren't many.

*A senior boy's dad took ill suddenly and died.  This is the 3rd senior who has lost a parent this year.  So sad.  This Dad was on Tiny Town's City Council and was their representative for our library board.  Not only will his family miss him, but our community will, too.

*L is eagerly awaiting CG this week.  He is moving back to the area this weekend.  He will be building up his frequent flyer miles by resuming his commute to Philly just like he did last year.

*Me?  I'm just hanging on until spring break--and trying to convince the Mr. to take a vacation day, too.  We could use the yard work and window washing.  Great way to spend a vacation, eh??

I think you'll do just fine this Saturday. On a different note, I learned so much about training my dog from a book, The Rossetta Bone, by Cheryl S. Smith. Our vet and others told us you could not train greyhounds. This book helps you understand dog behavior. It's a little weird at times, but it did help me with communication with Isabel.

Since I get winded running down to the end of my (short) driveway I admire your determination. I look forward to reading the results of your big day.

As for Mr. B., just remember by 1 year old they are somewhat like your high school students...Better, but needing more guidance and encouragement. By 2 years old, they become the dog you have taught them to be. Hang in there!

I'm sorry to hear of the senior boy's father and continue to not understand when these types of tragedies occur.

You amaze me with all that running- go girl! Best of luck in having a "fun" run on Saturday.

I know what you mean about hanging on until spring break. I'm hanging on until tomorrow- every day. Tomorrow. When the sun will come out. Speaking of which, the sun HAS come out every single day of March so far, so odd for our part of the universe. I LoVe it!

Fash was a shining star in the musical this past weekend- brought down the house. Gosh, I'm gonna miss that girl.

Go! Go! Go! I am cheering you on from here - wish I could run it with you! 5 songs I would recommend: Another One Bites the Dust by Queen; It Don't Hurt by Sheryl Crow; Pink Cadillac by Bruce Springsteen; Getting Jiggy With It by Will Smith; and Gives You Hell by All American Rejects. How's that for eclectic? :)

I admire anyone who runs - last thing on my wishlist. It sounds like a vacation would be a good thing when spring break comes around - you deserve it!!
