Rain Days

I managed to make a big dent in my grading yesterday.  Don't get me wrong, I will still be grading this weekend.  It's a good thing the Mr. has to work.  By the time he gets home, I will be ready for a break.

It poured here yesterday.  Soaked students are fairly miserable.

Water wicked up their jeans and soaked their jackets.  Umbrellas were dripping all over the rooms of Trailer High.

However, there is nothing like the rain to bring out the fashions.  Here are some new ones:
I loved the rain boots with the red bird on them.  Quite artsy.  And check out this umbrella:
Van Gogh's "Starry Night."  Yes, we are quite highbrow when it comes to rain apparel.

On second thought...
Who knew John Deere made a hat this size?!  His umbrella's "bill" came in handy.  He could turn the umbrella backward and it would cover his backpack.  I guess for our area of the country, a John Deere "hat" umbrella could be considered artsy....  Naaah!

OK.  Break's over.  Back to grading.  Pray for sunshine for our drenched students!

Love the John Deere umbrella! I've never seen one like that. Just think: next year (isn't that when the new school will be ready?) you won't have the opportunity to see all of the different umbrellas/rain boots!

My! Rain gear has come a long, long way from the days of the 60's & 70's! We had those ugly red "galoshes" (sp?) and yellow raincoats. I think the fashion of Trailer High is very trendy and cute. In certain circles the John Deere hat would even be considered "chic". LOL!

I love both of those umbrellas! Hope you get sunshine today.

Don't you dare send that rain this way, Mrs. E! My front lawn is about 6 inches high and the weeds are higher and I HAVE to mow for the party. The back yard needs a mow, too, but at least the neighbor's can't see that. :)

I love all of your small touches at rebranding the high school logos - your attention to detail always makes me chuckle. :)

I adore rainboots and have been dying to get some but I know I'll never get to wear them around here.

HS is all about expression:)

You are cracking me up with the John Deere umbrella. Looks like the kids in our town.

I always laugh when I see how kind your students are to let you photograph their apparel for a blog post. How many of them read your blog? I would've given my John Deere umbrella to have a cool teacher like you when I was in school. Wish I could go back in time and live in Small Town and attend trailer school.

Where did you get the rain boots with the red bird on them? I've been searching everywhere for them, but I can't find them!!
