Tuesday Tunes- "It's America"

This song is for the coming Memorial Weekend:  Rodney Atkin's "It's America."

I wish I had the local music video that the students of Trailer High made last year for our high school news channel. I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one wiping tears on that 2nd verse:
"...I saw a little town that some big twister tore apart.
And people came from miles around
Just to help their neighbors out
And I was thinking to myself
I'm so glad that I live in America..."

"Cause it's a kid with a chance, it's a rock 'n roll band
It's a farmer cutting hay
It's a big flag flying in a summer wind
Over a fallen hero's grave...
It's cities and farm, it's open arms
And one nation under God
It's America!"

Thank God for songwriters who can capture what a great country we live in! That is such a good song!

Enjoyed that--thank you. The scenes in the video could have been shot a few miles from the high school where I teach---just a good ol' slice of America.
