Whirlwind of a Weekend

The lack of posting should be your first clue.  What a weekend!

Friday, K and I, along with a niece, took a five hour trip to see another niece graduate.  Said niece gave the closing comments at her high school graduation.  She was articulate, funny, and clever.  She did a better job than the adults who spoke.  She made us quite proud!

After spending the night with Big Brother's family, K and I headed home.  It was another five hour trip, only this time we were tired.

We got home in time to relax a bit, then shower and head to a small engagement gathering for K and CT.

Once I got home to bed, my cold kept me up part of the night.  I finally tried to sleep in the recliner so I could breathe.  The Mr. brought cough syrup to me after one coughing attack.  Sadly, I was asleep and didn't know I was coughing!  I guess that shows just how tired I was.

Then today, we went to the Mr.'s nephew's graduation.  We picked up the Mr.'s mom and took her to see her youngest grandchild graduate.  She even went to the post graduation party.  The nephew delighted his uncle by checking to see if the diploma was signed before he left the stage.  This evening he is headed off to State Golf, so he couldn't linger long at his party.  We are excited for him.

It was a fun weekend.  Even though the visits were short, it was good to catch up with our extended families.

Tonight, I am curled up with a book and nursing this stupid cold.  The whirlwind has died down.  Now if I could just shake this cold...

I hope you feel better soon. Enjoy reading something other than literature books and essays written by high school students. Just "baby" yourself some.

What book?! I am reading Her Mother's Hope. It's a really great book...I could stay up a long time and read if only I could stay awake!! Enjoy your first FREE Monday of summer!

Yes, inquiring minds want to know which book! I started The Flying Troutmans, but it was so good that I decided to save it for the plane ride. Instead, I'm flying through The Gathering (and loving it) and trudging through Cold Mountain (ugh). Hope you are feeling better soon! Take steaming hot baths and drink lots od tea...
