Out of the mouths of Sophomores

Yesterday the kids were asking about grades.  I explained that I was incredibly behind.  I said, "In fact, I'm so far behind-- I feel like I'd almost have to die to catch up."

And a soft little voice from the back of the room said, "Oh, Mrs. E.  Don't say that."

A sophomore boy.  Completely sincere.  So sweet.

Some days they remind me why I teach school.

Die to the hub bub of the stress of the daily schedule. Take a deep breath. Relax. Breathe. And grade. One minute at a time. That's all you can do some days.

Bless his heart! At least no one suggested that you just give everyone an A! :) Take deep breaths, one project at a time. You have gotten a tremendous amount done this past week; just think how much you'll have done when you look back at this week.It will all be finished work, floating under the bridge...

Isn't it like a breath of fresh air when you can feel the love from your students that way?
