In The Mail

I love my cousin Mary.  I think she is about number 36 or 37 out of my 38 first cousins. My number is probably 9. She is the same age as K and L, so I'm old enough to be her mother.  Thankfully, she doesn't treat me like her mother.  (She speaks my rum punch language.)

Besides being adorable and lots of fun, I had a package in the mail from Mary yesterday.  We're running an exchange book program.  (I just sent her the Hunger Games series.)

So what am I reading poolside in the next few weeks?

*Little Bee by Chris Cleave
*Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah
*The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

Oh, and somewhere in there I'm going to try to cram in work on a Tiny Town fundraiser day for my sophomore boy AND work on the Tiny Town High School musical for this fall.

Hope the Mr. still loves me by the time this summer is over.

Oooo that's such a great way to share books! I use paperback exchange sometimes when I'm done with a book... the only problem is waiting forever for the really good books. :)

Firefly Lane (or any Kristin Hannah) would be good poolside. My son left me the Stieg Larsson book. Don't give up on it too quickly. It took awhile to get into it, but I really liked it by the end. You'll have to let me know how Little Bee is. Happy reading!

I love that Mary -- and trust me, she thinks you're pretty amazing, too. I do think she is #38.

Is she the baby of us all?? Wow! Saved the best for last! : ) Alicia, I'm so thankful for cousins who like to swap books! Kim, I'm two chapters into Little Bee--and I'm hooked.

Little Bee is a wonderful read! And Firefly Lane is a great book! Another Kristin Hannah I really liked was Winter Garden. Unlike Kim, I quit on that Dragon Tatoo book. I just couldn't get into to it.

I just finished Into the Fire by Suzanne Brockman--lots of characters but once I got them straightened around--super book! And now I am reading If Wishes Were Horses. Fast read!

My girls are starting to hide my books so that I will stop reading and start sewing. I have a few projects to finish.....maybe if they would clean house and cook meals I could sew!

Happy Reading!!
