Small Town America

This sits on main street of the Mr.'s hometown. Unused and tired, there is still something about it that I love. There isn't much left in his town anymore. People and businesses have pulled up stakes and moved on, leaving behind the shell of the life that once was. The elevator stands silent and waiting, ever faithful.

I love the light on the silo! So golden, is it morning light?

nostalgia......

I think about this often as my small town is losing people and jobs rapidly.

Evening light, Puna. I loved the light on the brick silo, too.

It's as if you were reading my mind! I was thinking about the one that stands near the railroad tracks in Detroit... It probably doesn't look as pretty as this one, but I remember drawing it when I was a kid and used to live in the small community there. This picture is really beautiful! I agree with Holly... the picture brings out feelings of nostalgia and also homesickness!

Keep the beautiful pictures of the small town coming! Love them!! :)

Oh, I love this. That is sad that people and businesses are leaving the town.

This poor little town hasn't been a "boom" town since the 1920's or so. The school closed in the 1960's, and you know how it goes from there.
