Joys of Summer

A relaxing summer stretches out before me. These are the things that are calling my name:

  • Junk reading late into the night and sleeping in
  • Some day trips to antique stores or museums that I have had no time for
  • Cleaning out the "office" room (Calling Clean Sweep might be easier)
  • Watching kids play ball at the local fields
  • Evening walks
  • Trips to the library
  • A part-time job where someone else is giving the orders
  • Biking on country roads
  • Organizing a garage sale
  • A trip with the Mr.
  • Planning an evening outdoor party--a casual gathering of friends
  • Sitting outside watching the clouds float by

I am feeling a pang of jealousy, though I know that is not becoming- as my summer vacation has definately not begun. But I'm so ready for it to begin! Fashionista is back to the drawing board with the ACT college entrance exam, going to take it again early June to try to improve her score. I feel like I'm back in high school, I'm so uptight about it. I'm helping her study for it, but have to admit, I sometimes have no idea why the correct answer is the right one- especially when it isn't the one I would have chosen. Ugh.

I have a college degree, but am wondering now how I ever got it.

Anyway, I keep thinking of you because my yellow tinged, purple irises are in bloom, Fashionista has some pics of the shed they took down at the family farm on her facebook and I'm still dreaming about the Nikon Coolpix plum. Which one do you have? What # is on it?

Ok. That sounds AMAZING! I'd love to hit up antique stores and museums during my days... Maybe in July. :)

Heidi- The camera is an S 220 Nikon coolpix. I don't envy you the ACT prep. I'm so glad that we didn't even have to worry about ACT scores when I was a kid. We just took it, didn't sweat it, and went off to college!

Thanks, Elk. I was unplugged for 4 days and missed your beautiful photos and inspiring words.

And Alicia--I can't even imagine how much you will get to see when school lets out in NYC. Not quite like driving 70-100 miles to take in some of those museums! I've been thinking about you. How are things going?

Sign me up for the junk reading. I could use a bit of that. Too bad I fall asleep once I stop moving. Waah! :)
