I Hate To Admit It

We're only on week #2 of school, and this is what my desk drawer looks like. I'll blame it on how hectic the days have been.

It has been hard getting back in the swing: lesson plans, technology hooked up and working, grading papers, and a new gradebook program. Did I mention I'm still trying to learn names?
*sigh*
I'll get right on this--next week.

I have more than one drawer like this, in the house, where I live. This picture points out to me how uncalled for that is, for me, as I have not begun schooling and am not working at the moment. I am going to get right on that today, because it is a project I can actually handle. Thank you for giving me the idea.

I do sense how busy you have become, since your blog no longer features bare feet w/painted toenails sticking off the end of an adirondack chair surrounded by flowers with the corner of an open book and glass of wine showing somewhere in the picture. BUT I can't tell you how impressed I am that you are writing a post every day in spite of this! I think it is because you are so disciplined- getting up and walking in, what to me is like the middle of the night still, and having your cup of coffee and breakfast before going off to teach all day. This is good mentorship through the blogs for sure! For me anyway.

Hope your Tuesday is terrific!

CM, I think there is a laser pointer and a super ball in there somewhere. (I gave the fart spray to the principal.) And 2Looks-- I'm sure there will be days I'll miss. (I'm hoping not weeks.)

Sooo did your computer problem get fixed?? (Did you know teachers don't get computers at my school?... and I left a school that was getting brand new mac laptops for this... Hmmm.) I am hoping to be much more organized this year... I'll have to take a photo of my space in my second week and compare... I'm sure it will be in a state! :)

If your drawer was all neat and organized that would probably mean you had nothing better to do. I think it's better to be busy with a messy drawer!

I think that looks pretty normal for a teacher - doesn't it? I am sure you are too busy doing other more important things by the sounds of last week's posts.

Alicia, I can't believe you don't have computers. I'm not sure I could function without one. Mine was mysteriously OK when the tech guy looked at it. Thankfully, someone else's did the exact same thing so I don't feel completely nuts. Mainly, I'm just grateful it is working!

Don't worry. All you have to do is find the ruler!
