Sick Sophomore

How can you tell when a sophomore boy is sick? He reads his book without being asked. He doesn't whine about having to read his book.

This is our 2nd year together during advisory/reading time. He apparently loves to hear me say, "And we're reading!" This is my daily reminder that his chatter is to stop. I didn't have to say it once yesterday.

Stupid me. I thought I had finally gotten through to him. I thought he was actually starting to enjoy reading.

He read at the end of 3rd hour English without being asked and then all through advisory required reading time.

By the end of the day he was throwing up.

Yep. I should have known he was sick.

Did he write fervishly in his journal as well? I seem to recall that would have been an indicator for this sophomore.

so ashamed...so, so ashamed...

And CH--you should have been. Actually, he is as darn cute and charming as you were at that age. He knows exactly how hard to push me, then gets busy right before I blow!

It was good he had something to take his mind off of his illness. Reading really is escape into an alternate universe - shame it cannot last forever. I hope he is feeling better.
