Princess Award

Kitty at Dolliedaydream gave me an award this week: a Princess Award.  If you haven't been to Kitty's blog, she is a princess!  I'm jeans and boots, and she is heels and pearls.  I find I'm either drooling over her clothes or her food.  She's worth a visit.

So, thank you Kitty!  Who doesn't want to be a princess?  The Mr. has called me LP (short for little princess) for years.  He thinks he is so funny.

I like this award because it is largely about reading.  Here are the rules for the princess award:

1. Name an author you love.
JK Rowling.  I love the whole Harry Potter series.  I love that she wrote the first book when she was completely broke.  I love that she got kids reading again.  And I love that the message of her books is that love is stronger than anything--even death.

2. Name an author who highlights your personality.

Laurie Halse Anderson. She writes young adult literature. I love her sense of humor and wry look at the teen world. She gets them. Speak is my favorite.

3. Name some books you love.

To Kill A Mockingbird, Pride and Prejudice, Little Women, Gone With the Wind, Kite Runner, The Harry Potter series, Two From Galilee, Speak, and Hunger Games

4. Something that always excites you.

Skiing, Roller Coasters, and Biking on a bike trail.

5. Something you hate.
People who don’t return carts in parking lots (It is just a couple of steps.  Consider it exercise.)
Being behind with grading (I'm not a princess when it comes to procrastinating--I'm the Queen!)
Clutter (Right now the clutter on my desk at school is driving me crazy!)
Talking on the phone (Besides talking to family, I would be happy if I never had to talk on the phone!)

And now I'm passing this award on.  All they have to do is nab the Princess button below, post answers to the questions above, and pass the award on.

These are some great Princesses in my opinion:

LC at The Adventures of Pudge and Zippy  (Old blog, new name)
Alicia at A New York City Life
Kate at I Should Have My Own Reality Show
Hays Family 5 at The Hays Crew
Leslie at Poems About Oranges
Lisa at Bauer Banter

And I also want to know what they love reading!!  (Sneaky of me to give them an award so they have to post what they love to read!)

Thanks for the award! I am working on my answers. My problem is that I tend to read and forget - to the point that I have had to look at a book at the library to see if my number is in it. Check my blog tomorrow.

Love hearing more about your reads. I own Speak and think its a fantastic read, I don't know why I've never read anything else by her.

This is wonderful Mrs E thank you for playing along - I've really enjoyed reading this today and so pleased we have JK Rowling in common too! Wishing you and your family the sweetest weekend, if only you were all closer I would send you some cakes :-) xxx

You deserve this award. I think all women are princesses in one way or another. I loved reading more about you. I love the Harry Potter series too. Have a great weekend LP :)
