On Baseball and Butterflies

Baxter and I spent some time outside after school yesterday.  I was enjoying the flowers and leaves that are popping up all over-- and even the first butterfly of spring.  Baxter was enjoying trying to eat the leaves and grass.  And that makes him throw up.  Lovely.

When the Mr. got home, all three of us went to the fields to watch our high school baseball team beat the rival school rather soundly in a double header.  It was nice to see our kids have some success in sports this year. It has been a long year in athletics.

Yesterday was all about baseball and butterflies and flowers.  Today?  Well, today I am headed to a funeral.  One of the Mr.'s aunts had been sick for a long time.  She died on Saturday.   His mom was one of four sisters and is now the only surviving sibling.  Sad.  I've decided I never want to be in that situation.  And yes, I know that I don't exactly get to choose.  I'm just saying...

Baxter looks likes he's pulling for a chance to get into those flowers and dig. Sorry to hear about Mr.'s aunt. Death- there's no escape. I honestly don't like thinking about it, but passing it by for a glance at heaven instead.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and the Mr. - and especially with his mom. I hope happy memories of your aunt bring you comfort and hold you close.

I know what you mean about being the last one. My mom is the last one of 8; I think all of the cousins feel sorry for her.

One thing that I think is great about American schools is the athletic departments. I loooooveeeeee baseball (and yet my sons hate it!), but I've never heard of a high school team here, its just the league from the towns. We do have high school rugby, volleyball, and basketball, but you don't get the huge crowds like you see on the movies & tv shows (like the Blind SIde. Its just a sprinkling of family members. I like your system better.
And, hey...flowers!!! I was just outside lying on my soggy grass taking pictures of the fist tulips & daffodil leaves peeking out of the ground.......which I will feature in my next post.
Sorry about being so verbose (that's my word for the day), and I really should be doing my school work.

So sorry to hear about the death in your family. It is always harder for those of us left behind.

Also, if it is any consolation, Harry used to yak all the time when he was younger, but has gotten much better lately. Must be thier little tummies. Hope you are having good days!
