Sometimes...!

1.  My right eye is now swollen and red.  It started on Monday.  Yesterday, the swelling moved down under my eye as the day progressed.  The Dr. thinks I have an allergy.  I think I am falling apart.  S-l-o-w-l-y!

2.  I finally heard from a student who was behind me when I fell last week.  Since I didn't know exactly what happened, I wondered if I tripped or something.  Nope.  They said one minute I was up, and the next I was down- hard!  I landed on one shoulder and one hip.  (I thought I only landed on my hip.)

3.  The final two medical tests that I need can't be done until next week.  They want me to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours, and then they want to run an EEG to rule out any unusual brain activity.

4.  Next week is the last week of school, so the timing isn't very convenient.  I have to miss two afternoons in a row.  *sigh*

5.  Today is the last day for the Seniors.  At Trailer High we are so spread out that I won't see most of them.  A few of them have dropped by to leave a senior picture or a graduation announcement.  It means a lot to give them one last hug and send them on their way.

Right now I just want to be able to run in the morning and walk home from school again. *double sigh*

On a cheery note:  I am going to be a swimming pool attendant this summer.  This job is usually done by adorable high school girls in really cute bikinis.  It is always a good shock when the pool attendant is over 50 and chasing away the UV rays.

I'll miss the bookstore, but I won't miss the drive.  I worked at the pool two years ago, and there is a lot of time to read. That is a definite perk!  It also doesn't hurt that the job is somewhat more relaxing than teaching.  I could use that about right now!

Mrs. E ~ My gosh I hope you feel better with each new day. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Enjoy the last week of school next week. It's hard to believe another school year has flown by.

Have a nice day ~ Hugs ~ FlowerLady

Hope everything checks out OK. Sounds like a perfect summer job when you can read on the clock.

Yikes! Sending lovely Happy Brain! thoughts your way. :) The pool sounds lovely - I think you've earned a short stint of (relative) relaxation!

I know you are sooo far away... but the eye thing seems to be going around. I have a student and a colleague who both seem to be suffering from the same type of thing!

The pool sounds like fun - there's nothing like reading away hot summer days! I'd be hiding under a huge umbrella after slathering on 50 spf to keep my fragile WHITE skin safe from turning lobster red though! I've been throwing around a summer job idea. My husband encourages me to take it easy and enjoy the two months off... We'll see. I'll probably need that again.

Unusual brain activity and a heart monitor? They are aware you're a teacher and it's the last week of school, aren't they? :D
MS would absolutely kill me if I was pool attendant since he's a lifeguard! Nope, he wouldn't be too happy with me! :D

You must look much better in a swim suit than I do or you're just gutsy or both!
Sorry about the last week of school getting a bit messed up, but it's good that they're being thorough.
Sounds like you have great "students"---they'll help you make it work.

My kids are really bummed out that Tom dies.
They weren't expecting that twist in the plot (To Kill a Mockingbird for those who don't realize that Mrs. E and I are teaching the same book, but in different parts of the country).

They're also a shocked at rape bringing the death penalty. Looking back at the time period from 2010 is a real "wake up" call for them.

first, you will be fine. i did the heart monitor, etc., after a spell. seemed to be no good reason for my dizziness that day and it was chalked up as idiopathic. no good reason. be well. thinking of you.
