And the bride wore...shoes?!

The bridesmaid dress is in.  K, L, and I are making a quick trip today to pick it up.  The dress is so simple and plain that, if my sewing skills weren't so rusty, I could have made it.  Ah well, one less worry!

Shoe shopping is the only other goal for this trip.  The bride and bridesmaid both need to locate their shoes for the wedding.  When the bride's dress comes in, she has to have the length adjusted to the shoes she is wearing.  Perhaps she should have purchased the shoes by then!

Wish us luck. While we all love our flip flops, they don't make for very graceful walking for the wedding or the reception.  Some girls could pull off the barefoot bride, but that is sooo not K.

So, shoe shopping we go.  Oh, and if that wedding dress doesn't arrive in time...shoes may be the only thing the bride is wearing!  I'm kidding, K!  (It's kind of fun to push her buttons!)

Did you see cousin J. P.'s son's wedding photos? Flip flops on the ladies in the bridal party. Cute!

If you're used to flats and lower heels like most teachers are, keep wedges in mind. A friend went shopping with me for my mother of the bride dress and shoes. She started pulling out all these heels and I looked at her like she was nuts. But I ended up with a pair 3 inches high---much higher than normal for me---brown patent wedges. I wore them the entire afternoon and evening, long past when the other moms had removed theirs!
Good Luck!

Happy shopping! I'm sure whatever she finds will be beautiful!

A lot of girls I know change into flops after pictures - much more comfy! :) No matter what K wears, I know she will be absolutely stunning. Real happiness does that to a person!

Scatterbrain that I am, I didn't remember to purchase my shoes until the night before my wedding. Ever try finding a specific pair of white formal shoes in the middle of December? I really can't recommend it. Nice planning ahead, K and crew!
