Crazy Few Days

The end of last week and all weekend were filled to overflowing.  There were plenty of fun-filled moments, but very little "down" time.  I haven't read a blog in five days, and I finally gave up trying to post over the weekend. We'll just have to wait and see how this week goes.

So here is some of my summer fun:

*Pedicures and a bookstore trip with K and L.

*The Mr. and I spent a late evening on a deck in Tiny Town enjoying the new black currant wine drink and seeing friends.

*I finally talked the Mr. into a movie matinee.  (More on that tomorrow!)

*On our way to a restaurant after the movie, L called and they were sitting on the patio of the restaurant we had just pulled into.  We sat and talked to L and CG for an hour before they left to go to a baseball game, and we finally moved inside to eat dinner.

*After dinner we had an impromptu wine tasting party on another deck in town.

*I attended a wedding of two former students.  I know I've told you before how much I enjoy seeing two great students begin a new home and family together.  It might be the best perk of being a teacher!  This wedding was simple and absolutely beautiful.  And their reception was at the bride's family barn.  There were a lot of country touches that were perfect for these two.  My two favorite:  two rusty old milk cans with sprays of dried flowers at the front of the church, and a flower girl who carried a black cowboy hat filled with petals. When she finished with the petals, she handed the hat off to the ring bearer (who happened to be her brother) and he wore it for the ceremony.  The groom had given it to him for his gift. Adorable!!

*I did another secret mission into the construction area that is our new school.  I'll post pictures later this week.  I am so excited and thinking we might actually make our projected date of January.

*And finally, we took family pictures on Sunday afternoon.  And after we finished, K and CT stayed and had their engagement pictures taken.

The last few days have been jam packed and quite enjoyable.  Life might settle down, but after all-- it is summer! I guess it is supposed to be full of the fun that I don't have time for during the school year!

My husband is actually working on your school right now! Do you want me to tell him to make your room a little larger? :-)

Sounds like the summer of wine on decks...:) I like that. It's been a hot one up here in MI, so neighbor kiddos in the pool every day. Yeah, summer sometimes means no time for blogs. That's okay.
