My Weekend, My Monday

This weekend was nuts!  L moved home to save some money and to figure out what she is going to do in a year.  She'd like to hunt for a teaching job in another town, but in this economy...!  Well, who knows?

On our way to move L's final load, the Mr.'s truck shot craps.  I was following him in the car, and we ended up at Cracker Barrel and Walmart, waiting for K and CT to come pick up the trailer and help us continue with the move.  Not exactly the day they had planned, I'm sure!  The Mr.'s truck spent several hours parked along side the road.  What was supposed to take a few hours, ended up taking an entire morning.  We missed a family reunion.

A friend ended up helping the Mr. haul his truck home in the afternoon.  He is headed down to the local mechanic this morning.  It isn't looking good for the truck. It isn't looking good for our checkbook!

Baxter is headed off to be "fixed" this morning.   Poor dear has no idea what his day will be like!

The Mr. and I are sharing rides to work today.  We're lucky that most of the time we can function with one vehicle.

L is headed back to clean her house before her final walk through with the landlord.  There is another chef in our house now...and a running/exercise partner.  (On the downside, there is another person to fight for the remote!)

The rest of this week is crazy.  The bride has a wedding dress fitting, and we are making mints for the wedding.  (They freeze perfectly!)  I work a couple days this week, and the women faculty are meeting for lunch.  It is obvious that I am trying to cram everything in before I head back to school. The last frenzied fun of summer.  Well, except for Baxter... and the Mr.'s truck!!

We've had several mint making parties and it's always fun. Those cream cheese mints are mighty tasty!

We made hundreds of mints for Jill's wedding last summer. It was the same recipe used to make mints for my wedding, too! Yum!

Poor little Baxter!
My mom used to make mints for weddings and freeze them, too.

The poor men in your life! Maybe the truck isn't as bad as you think? And Baxter...well, he doesn't know it, but he'll be up and back to his old self in no time. But hopefully a little calmer!
