It's Over

I go back to school this morning.  We have teacher meetings pretty much all day today and tomorrow.  It will be so good to see my colleagues and meet the new teachers.  I'm actually ready for the routine to begin again.

On the other hand, there is a lot to do. I have quite a few classroom management tasks to complete before the kids arrive on Wednesday.  I hope I'm ready for them.

Oh, and I'm still waiting for my annual back-to-school nightmare.  There's always one!

It seems appropriate that my suumer ends with the cooler temperatures and wonderful weekend we had.

Friday night, the family made a trip to pick up the wedding dress.  It was a perfect fit and just beautiful.  After that, we all went out to dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary the next day.

Saturday, the Mr. had to work while I went to a matinee of "Eat, Pray, Love."  I'm still digesting what to make of the book and that goes double for the movie.  At least it made me think.   What did we do to celebrate our 34th Anniversary?  We worked a margarita machine for a golf benefit.  It was a beautiful evening at the golf course.  The final nine holes were night golf.  They played with glow in the dark balls.  It was kind of like watching shooting stars.

Sunday, some friends had a couples bridal shower for K and CT.  Their camouflage and duck decoy decor were adorable.  It was held in a beautiful backyard with good friends, good food, and lots of laughs.  Such a nice evening, and the kids were showered with a lot of great gifts.  (Which, by the way, are now stored in my basement!!)

So that was the end of my summer.  I've always liked happy endings.  This was definitely a happy ending to my summer!

Sounds like a great ending to summer. You almost make me want to get back to school. Almost. My summer started later than yours, so I'm still in summer mode.
Happy Belated Anniversary! You're blessed to still be together and happy for 34 years, but then you know that already.

All this talk of summer ending is making me crave bouqets of freshly sharpened pencils. Bring on the fall!
