Fabulous Week- K and CT's Wedding

I know.  I haven't posted all week.  This was wedding week.

Time is still a precious commodity, but I'll post my five favorite moments of the week.

1.  Pedicure, lunch and hair appointment with the bride (K) and her maid of honor (L) the morning of the wedding.
Above--before hair and make up.  Below--after hair, but still no make up!
2.  The two girls suggested we all get spray-on tans the night before the wedding.  I haven't laughed that much in a long time.  You really haven't lived until you've gone through that experience with L.  Let's just say that she would have been perfectly happy in the Garden of Eden--before the clothes!

3.  I love this photo.  Bride, Maid of Honor, and proud Dad.  The girls and I left about 45 minutes before the Mr. did because he transported the officiant and the surprise.
4.  K's best friend from pre-school days was the surprise.  L had talked to her and made sure she was present at the ceremony.  If this had been a traditional wedding, M would have been standing right there with K.  As it was, M still stood right there beside K.  There were some happy tears at that reunion.  Quite touching, and it meant a lot.  (I've written about M before here.)

5.  The whole wedding evening would have to be my final favorite moment of the week.  The weather was stunningly wonderful!  The bride and groom were so happy.  There were tears and laughter.  It was an intimate group of 12 if you count both the officiant (my little big brother, LBB) and the photographer.  The Mr. walked her down the "aisle" and gave her away.  LBB conducted a beautiful and touching ceremony.  The bride and groom were a bit emotional; K more so than CT.  The moms sniffled.  The dads were misty.  Even LBB got a little choked up.

The evening ended with a small dinner and a special, small wedding cake at our house on Easy Street.  This small party reminded me of what people did many years ago after small weddings.  It was simple and relaxed.

There will be more pictures to come.  The reception will be tomorrow night with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends in attendance this time.  It should be a good time.  I can't wait!

One last picture of the new Mr. and Mrs.  This isn't my photo.  The professional photographer has already sent us a few, and I'm posting this one for K's Grandpa.  I'm pretty sure they could be standing on his land at the farm.  (And I have to admit that a part of me wishes that they had been.)
So Grandpa, there is your beautiful granddaughter and her new husband.
