Getting Closer

Semi trucks were backed up to our new school building for the last couple of days.  They were delivering the cabinetry/shelving for our new classrooms.

The principal and secretary spent part of our inservice on Monday assigning the new lockers to our students.  Locker numbers and combinations will be distributed right before Christmas break.

We've discussed bells and backpacks, cell phones and grand openings.  We were told what we are to take to the new building and what will be left behind.  We've discussed who will be helping us with the move, when students will be able to tour the schools, and when the alumni will be invited for a back-to-school day.

As it grows closer and plans are being finalized, excitement grows.

We are two months away from kissing Trailer High goodbye!

And I can't wait!

How exciting it will be moving into your new school, even though moving is hard work. I have to ask: Is there anything you will miss about Trailer High?

I will miss being outside as much as I have been for the last two years--in all seasons and in all kinds of weather.

And I have a hunch I am going to miss (amazingly enough!) the bathrooms in our classroom. It is amazing how few kids have to use the restroom when they can't go out into the hall to get there! I know hall passes will be part of my life again!

I'm sure there are more. I'm thinking this might be a Saturday List!

I am so excited for you!! Start taking lots of pictures now - what a bittersweet moment leaving Trailer High will be! And what stories these students will have to tell, The Kids of Trailer High (sung to the tune, Boys of Fall, of course)!
