Break's Over??

Most public school teachers and students in our area are headed back to school today.  I'm not.  None of the teachers or students in Tiny Town are in school today.  In fact, we don't have school tomorrow either.  Why, you ask?

The construction crew has these last two days to finish, so we can begin the move on Wednesday.  Today and tomorrow there will be tours for the administration to check on the jobs completed and an official passing of the keys.

Does that mean they are completely done?  My guess is no.  I think there will be minor things that will still need to be completed even after classes begin next Monday.  But....

I don't think there is any way they could/would keep us from moving in.  We are too excited!  It has been too long in trailers and horrible conditions.  What's a little light construction noise or dust?  Most of the work that still needs to be completed will be far away from the classrooms.  After the heavy equipment noise, mud, and the construction crew Johnny on the Jobs we've been exposed to--the workers should feel free to lay the carpet in the auditorium, screw in a few screws, or add a bit of trim.  I think we can deal with it!

So... today I am still playing.  There are a few errands to run and some fun things I want to do before the work of moving begins this week and then 2nd semester gets started next week.

"When you play, play hard.  When you work, don't play at all."

Yeah, that doesn't usually apply to me. I can almost always figure out a way to make teaching fun or at least enjoyable.  So while I'll be playing a bit today, the really fun playing begins on Wednesday--when we finally get started on that move!

Oh ~ enjoy! enjoy!
We are off today (gift from BOE) but tomorrow it all starts back up! I should be doing grade cards as I write this, but no, had to visit one of my favorite blogs first.
Have a wonderful first week of this New Year!
Blessings,
~ Katie
