Starry, Starry Night

"...You must shine among them like stars lighting up the sky, as you offer them the message of life..."
Philippians 2:15-16

I like stars.  I always have. (And I'm not talking about celebrities.)

I love a clear winter sky full of stars.  I love a warm summer night when the sky seems so low you feel as if you could touch each star.  I like shooting stars, the northern star, and the Big Dipper.

This time of year is all about stars:  A star's light guiding the wise men to the baby.

And that Bible verse is one of my favorites.

Shine like stars.  Let your light shine.
"Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine."

That seems like a great goal for 2011.  "Shine like stars, lighting up the sky..."

Yes, it does. I'll try to keep that in mind as I try to get back into the teaching groove today with lesson plans and just getting the right mind set for tomorrow.

I've always said I could see the stars in my daughters' eyes when they laugh that mischievous laugh I love so much.

LOVE this post, and now I'm aching to be standing beneath a sky full of summer stars again.
