The Daily Routine Begins Again

This will be our first full week of school.  I worry about the feet and the voice by the end of the week.  (I was hurting after 2 1/2 days.)

On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the alarm goes off at 4:45.  I meet K to run/walk a little before 5.  (This week, we're on Week 6 of Couch Potato to 5K.)  We'd do it after school, but it never happens.  It seems like there is always something going on.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the Mr. and I walk Baxter at 5:00.  I never worry about cars early in the morning; however, we do keep an eye out for skunks and raccoons. Tiny Town wildlife is more wild than anything else going on.

After breakfast, the morning news, and a shower, I try to be at school by 7:15 or so.  The school opens for students at 7:30, and classes start at 8:18.  In that hour before school starts, I usually set up for the day:  notes on the board, plans and seating charts ready, and everything organized.  Kids wander in to ask questions or use the computers.  And then school begins.

My plan period is over lunch.  I try to look ahead and see what I need to have done for the next day.  My teacher aide comes in the next hour, so if there is copying that needs to be done I make sure it is ready to go.  I try to do all of that before I go to eat lunch in the faculty lounge; otherwise, I'd spend the entire plan period talking to my colleagues.

When 3:25 rolls around, I'm not good for much.  I can usually get the make up work organized for the kids who were gone, but that is about it!  On a good day, I can get my desk cleaned off and leave the room in pretty good shape.  I usually head out the door at 4 or so.

Baxter is always glad to see me when I get home.  We go outside for a bit.  I wait for the Mr. to get home, checking Facebook, Pinterest, and sometimes blogging. If I can sneak in a visit to the Bug, I do.

After supper, sometimes Baxter and I take another walk.  Some nights I watch a little TV, read, or grade papers, and I almost always listen to the Mr. snore!

Because of the early alarm, I usually head to bed about 9:30.  And then I'm ready to start again the next day.

And of course, all of this will change when show rehearsals begin.  Quite an exciting life, isn't it?  Argh!!
