56

Some days I'd swear that could be my IQ, but really... it's just the age I will be trying on this year.

That makes me 40 years older than my students.  So now, when they are driving me up the wall--I have to think really hard about what it was like to be 16.  I have to remember that I mainly went to school to socialize, and that I'm pretty sure there were teachers who wanted to strangle me.  *sigh

Some days the girl on the left isn't that much different from the one on the right, except the one on the right is running the loony bin these days.

And she has the wrinkles to prove it.

Yep.  As of today, that is the face of 56.

Oh, and I'd kill to have the body of that 16 year old back.  And in those days, I thought I was fat.  Sheesh!  See what I mean about that IQ??

Happy Birthday! I know what you mean about trying to keep the kids' attitudes in perspective. I know I most certainly didn't work up to my potential in all but my English classes and oh, did I socialize!
How many years of teaching does this make then?
At 59, I will only have 15 after this year! I didn't start teaching until age 43!

This makes 34 years of teaching. I'm not sure how many more I have in me. We'll see.
