Christmas on Easy Street

For the past couple of years, our Christmas celebration on Easy Street has been the weekend before or after Christmas. This year, we are celebrating next weekend. This happens to be a stroke of luck.

Wednesday was our last day of school. Thursday I came down with a humdinger of a cold. Lovely. Just lovely.

However, my cold is nothing compared to the Mr. On Monday, he had a stent put into his left leg. (This is his second. They did the right leg a couple months ago.) The left leg blockage was worse, so he has been on blood thinner. The bruising on this stent is ugly. He is still moving a bit slowly. He returned to work yesterday and made it through a half day. He is headed back today. The business is closing at one, so it is just another half day. And then the business is closed until Wednesday. Hopefully, he will be up to a full day by then.

Timing is everything. We have a week to be back on our feet.

We are hoping that by the time the kids and grandkids roll in, we will both be feeling better.

So today, I am watching “The Walton’s Christmas Story,” doing laundry, and wrapping gifts. Oh, and drinking coffee. Always coffee, though I am eyeing the Christmas slush. After all, it has orange juice in it!
