At Week's End

Highlights-
*I think I have finally figured out the bookstore, so work there is a bit easier and not so stressful.

*Father's Day Brunch and a matinee of "The Hangover" before I had to work from 5-11.

*An antique store trip with K. I didn't buy a thing, but I had a good time looking.

*Friday's trip to the Art Museum with the Mr. I have discovered that the pop art, photography, and realistic art appeal to me the most.

*A new pair of running shoes--on sale no less! (When your feet are killing you after every walk/run, you know it is time to re-boot--so to speak!)

*A faculty women's brunch at the home of our retired secretary. She spoils us rotten, when really we should be spoiling her. She is a wonderful lady.

*L spent the night and we are headed to the pool in a bit.

*Reading Finger Lickin' Fifteen by Janet Evanovich. This was her best yet. I was laughing until I cried several times. (Don't tell me that BBQ cook-off scene wasn't hysterical!!)

*My neighbor's flowers are beautiful right now, and our tomatoes are ripening bit by bit.

The Lowlights

*Working from 5-11 on Father's "Night. " I am not a night person. The bookstore was nuts until about 10:00 pm. Crazy!

*Seeing my work schedule for 4th of July week. I'm working the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. I have a feeling everyone wanted vacation. At least most of these shifts are in the daytime.

*The 100+ heat index all week. Oh, how the sweat rolls.

*I need to do laundry and clean the house, but they are going to wait. L wants to hang out at the pool this morning. (Who am I to argue?) I'm headed to a funeral this afternoon. A friend's 86 year old Dad died this week. Just because he had lived a good, long life doesn't make this any easier for her.

I'm so glad to hear that the latest Stephanie Plum novel is good! I was disappointed in the last one. More hightlights than lowlights make for a pretty good week!

Gayle, I was so disappointed with 14, too. I'm glad to hear someone else say it. This one is so funny.
