I am working 5 days this week at the bookstore. Long shifts. A lot of people are on vacation, so I guess I am doing my part by covering. In spite of long nights, there have been a couple of reasons to celebrate this week.
- Art Garfunkel tickets!! The Mr. went online and purchased tickets to a concert this fall. I love Simon and Garfunkel. I wish they were still together, but I will settle for one half of the duo. The concert is in a small, intimate venue near here. It is always fun to have something to look forward to.
- My fur-lined, mammoth crocs (ugliest shoe known to man, I know!) made standing on my feet for six hours bearable last night! I am making calls to find someone in town who sells them, so I can pick up another pair to rotate into the shoe cycle.
- My schedule for next week: two days!! Ah, the manager does listen when I say I only want 2 or 3 days a week.
- The Mr. let me sleep in until 8:45 this morning. Of course, that means I didn't get my walk in, but maybe I'll go every other day this week. I really needed that sleep!
Working too much this week, but I did find a used copy of a poetry book that I have had my eye on for several years. With my discount, it should be an affordable price now. The other perk: I haven't had to watch all the Michael Jackson coverage. Don't get me wrong. MJ was part of my childhood, and I love a lot of his music--but enough!! There has to be something else going on in the world.
