Marching Along

First Saturday of March and...

*I'm running two miles at my usual time--5:00 AM.  (So much for sleeping in.)

*I'm taking the play cast three dozen doughnuts for our morning rehearsal.  When you wake teenagers before noon on a Saturday, you better bribe them with food.

*Rehearsal runs from 8:00 to 11:00.

*I'm headed shopping for the play this afternoon.  I need a couple of props:  a mouse (or what will pass as one) and a box for the dueling pistols.  We also need makeup and spray-in hair color--gray.

Whatever is left of the day belongs to the Mr.  I'm afraid I owe him.  Yesterday, I came home to a clean house and supper in the fridge.  He was gone, but he spoils me even when he isn't home!

A reader asked the name of the play:  Curtain Going Up!  It's about a first year director of a high school play.  Everything that can go wrong, does.  Sound familiar?  Yes, it could be autobiographical.  I figured I might as well go with what I know!

In a week, this will all be over.  And in the meantime, I have State Assessments to take my mind off of the play.  Think I can cram anything else into my week?

That sounds like the perfect play! Have never heard of it. Can I borrow your Mr?

2 miles at 5 AM sounds enough for me. :D

I like to get up early, because otherwise the day just goes.

Sometimes think it would be nice to have two parallel lives, to share the stuff I need to do

I was thinking about you, were your ears ringing? My youngest son was bribed into a part in the H.S. production of West Side Story. He got one homework pass a week for the length of the play. He said fine, no singing, no dancing and no lines. She said fine. But by the time the curtain was ready to go up, he was singing, dancing and speaking on stage. The play was awesome. It gave me new insight into the love and dedication school staff have to pull off such a task. My son know loves drama/acting and he doesn't even use the homework passes. He's told the advisers he's interested in whatever they do next year.

How sweet of the Mr. to take such good care of you! My hubby would give me his card and tell me to go get something! :)

I did that play back when I was dram director and we had a drama class and program! It was such fun! The kids really enjoyed doing it and the audience loved it.
Sounds like a full schedule, but I always enjoyed that kind of 'busyness' (not a word, I know).
I do miss drama. Enjoy!
