Sleep Craziness Continues--Childhood Memories

When I was a kid, I used to sleep from 7 PM to 7 AM.  I have always needed a lot of sleep.  When I was a toddler, Mom finally put a chair by my baby bed so I wouldn't kill myself trying to get into bed by myself.  I have vague memories of getting into bed still wearing my shoes.  What can I say?  I knew I needed my sleep! (How many toddlers do that?  See!  I was the perfect child!)

I can also remember one time when Mom wasn't home. Dad put me into bed and forgot to turn out the light.  I remember lying there and debating whether I should call for him to come back and turn it off or not.  I knew if the light wasn't off, I wasn't going to be able to go to sleep.  I also knew that Dads weren't as good as Moms at putting kids to bed.  I bit my tongue (for once!) and managed to fall asleep with the light on.

Those were memories from the early years, probably from about age 2 to 3.  As I grew older, the sleeping needs didn't decrease much.  I routinely fell asleep after the noon recess in 1st grade.  We each had our own rug where we were to rest while the teacher read a story.  Sometimes I would wake up in the middle of art.  The teacher had just let me sleep.

By Junior High, I was the dud of slumber parties.  Always the first one to crash, I was an easy target:  tickling my nose with feathers and freezing my bra were routine.  They also loved to try to get me to talk in my sleep.  They didn't have to work at it very hard.  The next morning they would be screaming with laughter about all their pranks. Glad to oblige.  Think how boring their evening would have been without me!

Yes, I'm still very fond of my sleep.  I need at least 8 hours a night.  My Wii Fit happens to agree with me.  A few weeks ago after one of those nights when the Mr. wasn't sleeping worth a darn, my Wii Fit age was 69!! (69!!)  He's been sleeping great the last couple of nights and look:
Sometimes I love my Wii Fit plus and other times I want to toss it out the window! Or is it the Mr. I want to toss out the window??  I'll get back to you on that one. (I'm kidding, dear!!)

Aaaawwww, I can just picture your little toddler self climbing into bed. So cute!

Yay for the age 30!!! Sometimes when my husband is wrestless during the night and waking me up with all his tossing and turning I understand why an aunt and uncle of mine had separate beds!

I hope I have children like that :)

I've forbidden B to eat after 10 pm because he gets all restless at night when he eats late and it drives me bonkers!

I need a full 8 hours too, so now when I.T. snores, I bail and finish off my night in the spare room. That's where my memory foam is anyway. Works for me. :)

I wonder what my Wii age is? Hmmm...

I find that I need less and less sleep as I age. But I do think that lots of sleep keeps you young.
And what does it mean to get your bra frozen? It is while you are wearing it? How does that work?
