I am so excited for the "Harry Potter" movie opening tonight! And yes, I am going. Tonight!
Always before I have waited a week or so to go, and then I end up taking in a matinee by myself. The rest of the Easy Street gang aren't that interested.
But, I'm not going by myself tonight! I have been invited by one of the cutest nine year olds I know to go to the movie with him and his mom. He has read all of the "Harry Potter" series, which probably tells you a lot about his reading ability. (He just turned 9 earlier this week, and he has read them all.) Let's just say, I won't mind having CL in my class one of these days, though it might be challenging to keep him in literature!
CL's mom, a former student, was one sharp cookie, too. She used to amuse the Mr. and me on a regular basis when she was in high school: refreshing honesty and sharp wit, too. She is definitely one of those students that, 20 years later, I am glad to call a friend.
I have loved Rowling's "Harry Potter" series, and I am looking forward to this movie. I will be in good company, not only with CL and his mom, but also the thousands of Harry Potter fans across the country. Rowling values a lot of qualities that our society needs: honesty, bravery, friendship, and love. And Rowling was smart enough to send that message to those who have the best chance to influence our society: our children.
"Pity those who live without love." JK Rowling Amen.

Oh! I can't wait to see it, but CH is real disappointed that it's only a Part 1; he's thinking he's going to have to wait forever for Part 2!
Another amen to that quote.
I've not read the final book, so probably see the movie until I have. I have to read those kind of books in summer, because I can't put them down and you know that conflicts with grading!
Looking forward to your 'review'!
Wasn't it amazing?? What did you think? I'm tempted to see it again... ;)
